Il Milan, inizialmente in vantaggio per 2-0, grazie alle reti di Pirlo su rigore e Pato, nella ripresa si fa riprendere dal Werder Brema, che riesce a pareggiare con Pizarro (due volte). I rossoneri, vanno così fuori dalla Coppa Uefa e gli rimane quindi un campionato da finire nel migliore dei modi, con l’auspicio di raggiungere la qualificazione in Champions.
